Gary KoppsGary D. Kopps, Associate Director, Global Work & Life Safety at Deere & Company

Gary Kopps graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville with a B.S. degree in Industrial Safety. He then joined the navy in the Naval Aviation Program. After the navy, Gary joined the John Deere organization and worked at eight Deere facilities before heading up the safety process for the John Deere Global operation. Gary is a professional member of ASSE, served on a number of National Safety Council Committees, past vice-chair of the ANSI B11 organization, member of the CDC Advisory Committee for Injury Prevention Control and is active in Worker Compensation Advisory Committees. Gary believes that safety performance can continually improve with proper focus and priority with the management team and employees. Gary believes that all injuries and illnesses on and off the job can be eliminated with teamwork.

david-e-jones_1David E. Jones, Shareholder, Ogletree Deakins

David heads up the Workplace Safety practice group of Ogletree Deakins, one of the nation’s leading law firms representing employers on labor and employment matters. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Jones served as a presidential appointee, holding the post of Legal Counsel and Special Advisor to the Chairman at the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission in Washington, D.C. Mr. Jones is a former Employer Co-Chair of the American Bar Association Occupational Safety and Health Law Committee. In recognition of his long, distinguished career, in which he has adhered to the highest ethical and professional standards and demonstrated outstanding professional leadership, in 2011 Mr. Jones was admitted as a fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

Todd HohnTodd Hohn, Global Workplace Health and Safety Director, UL

In Todd’s current position he acts as the safety ambassador delivering on UL’s mission to promote safe living and working environments around the world. Prior to his current role, he was with UL’s Workplace Health and Safety practice where he was integral to providing online safety training and risk management software solutions for organizations in the United States and internationally. Prior to working with UL, Todd worked with both Predictive Solutions and CNA Insurance. Todd received his B.S. degree in Safety from Illinois State University and completed the Advanced Executive Education Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, as well as the Executive Development Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Go behind the scenes and see for yourself how the John Deere Harvester Works plant manufactures combines and associated headers. This facility is approximately 90 acres under roof (that’s nearly 4 million square feet) and has produced products since 1913.
